elections over - at last.

I don’t know what I find more disturbing from the weekends election results:

  1. That only 65% of the population voted (apathy?, did they see it as a forgone conclusion?)
  2. That of those who did vote 6.8% of them voted for NZ First, and someone who I can only describe as a career politician - with all of the negative connotations that conjures, and none of the good public service that you hope for.)

I cannot fathom why people do not read the issues & policies of parties at election time.  And it astounds me that people do not use their ability to vote and have their say.
